After seeing an earring on the TV last night, I realized that Chanel has a fine jewellery collection and right in the morning I scanned their web site and picked some beautiful items for the pleasure of your eyes.

Did you know that Chanel designs have been inspired by Mademoiselle Gabrielle Chanel's luck charms or some other items that she adored? For instance, the comet as she defines it as "timeless and eternally modern"; pearls that she first saw at the Renaissance paintings and adored, then used in every occasion day and night; being a horse race fan she realized the diamond pattern on the stable lad's jacket and liked its graphic shape and used this pattern first on the Chanel bag and then on many other watch and jewellery designs; named as the forbidden flower, she was appealed by the androgynous and ambiguous white Camellia flower and liked to use its purity and simplicity on her designs; the lucky number 5 as punctuated the most significant events in her life; again a luck charm for her -the 4 leaf clover; the Byzantine and Venetian gilding and stone masonry that she discovered during her trip to Venice in 1920 and which initiated the Coco Chanel and as the last one, black and white colors as the symbol of extreme chic, purity and simplicity.

Yes kittenish, kittenish girls! But this phrase doesn't belong to me, the designer Rebecca Taylor from NY defines her style and her loyal customers this way. The logo with two kittens seen on the left supports the same.

Bir önceki yazıda bahsettiğim Pantone Fashion Color Report önümüzdeki sezonları aylar öncesinden düşünüp, tasarlayan moda tasarımcılarının öngörülerinden faydalanılarak hazırlanıyor. Kataloğu incelerken daha önce ismini bile duymadığım ama orada kullandıkları eskizle ilgimi çeken birkaç tasarımcı olmuştu ve oturup tek tek araştırmıştım. As I was going through the catalogue, I met many designer names that I haven't heard before and I researched a few of them who drew my attention with the sketches they had put there. That's how I found myself at the very colorful and enjoyable site of Rebecca Taylor.

Well, one thing related to Turkey. A Turkish business man, Murat Bugdaycay is the architect behind the successful branding story of Rebecca Taylor. His wife Elizabeth Bugdaycay is a friend of Rebecca and then they became the business partners.

Although I couldn't warm up to her decolleté shoe choice, I quite liked the comfortable hippi style cuts, flying fabrics and the colors. Moreover, the wall paintings of her store :))

Koçtaş ve Tepe Home mağazalarında Jua marka havlulara rastlamış olabilirsiniz. Eğer satın alıp kullandıysanız ya da gördüğünüz havlulara benim gibi dokunmadan duramadıysanız ne kadar yumuşak olduklarını da bilirsiniz. Hem ürünlerin dokusu, hem de ürün gamı olarak baktığımda Chakra ile aralarında inanılmaz bir benzerlik olduğunu düşünüyordum ki, bir Chakra mağazası ziyaretimde malum sır çözüldü! Mağaza müdüründen öğrendiğime göre Jua ve Chakra aynı firmanın markalarıymış.

İşte o günden beri blogumda Jua ürünlerine yer vermek istiyordum ama hep unutuyordum, dün akşam Maltepe Carrefour'da Jua mağazası görünce tekrar şimşekler çaktı ve işte yazı karşınızda... Jua da, Chakra gibi bambu ve pamuk liflerinden üretilmiş ev tekstil ürünleri ve banyo/mutfak aksesuarları sunuyor. Chakra'nın sadeliği ve pastel, pudra tonları yerine Jua'da pembeler, yeşiller göze çarpıyor. Peki başka nerelerde mağazaları var? İnanın bunu ben de bilmek istiyorum, zira web sitelerinde ürün resimlerinden başka hiçbir bilgi yok (http://www.jua.com.tr/).

You might have come across Jua brand towels at Koctas or Tepe Home stores. If you have ever bought and used or just touched to check, you know how soft they are. When I looked at both the texture and the product range, I've always thought of a similarity between Jua and Chakra and finally I uncovered the secret at one of the Chakra stores, chatting to the manager lady and learning Jua and Chakra were brand sisters of the same company.

I wanted to write about Jua many times but I forgot every single time - till I saw the Jua Store at Maltepe Carrefour last night like a flash of lightning. And here it is... Jua offers home textile products made of bamboo and cotton fibres as well as some bathroom and kitchen accessories. Despite Chakra's plainness and pastel, powder colors, vivid tones of pink and green stand out at Jua. Where else do they have stores? In fact, I'm also curious about it as I couldn't find any other info than the product visuals on their web site (http://www.jua.com.tr/).

Zivatu, doğal taşların gücüne inanmış iki zevkli bayanın, Sena Enderoğlu ve Tansel Bayraktar'ın takı tasarımı alanındaki ilgi ve becerilerini birleştirdikleri bir marka. Eski Anadolu Medeniyetlerinden esinlenen tasarımcılar, markalarına Hitit dilinde "kadın" anlamına gelen Zivatu ismini vermişler ve logolarında da Anadolu Bereket Tanrı'sının simgesini kullanmışlar. Tasarımlarının tamamında 925 ayar gümüş ve altın kaplama montürleri yarı değerli doğal taşlar süslüyor.

İnternet sitelerinde online satış seçeneğini göremeyince acaba ürünlerini nereden bulabilirim diye araştırırken bir söyleşiye rastladım ve Vakko'ya özel koleksiyon çalıştıklarını öğrendim. Zivatu'nun başarısı bununla da kalmıyor. Son yıllarda yurtdışı fuarlara da katılmaya başlayan marka Portekiz, Yunanistan bağlantıları sağlayarak zevkli tasarımlarını Avrupa'ya da ulaştırmayı başarmış. En çok hoşuma giden de Amerika'da yaşayan Japon bir giysi tasarımcısının koleksiyonu için kombin takılar üretecek kadar butik çalışmalarıydı. Özümüze dönmeye çalıştığımız, geleneklerimizi, otantizmi tozlu sandıklardan çıkardığımız bu devirde uluslararası başarılara imza atmış böyle bir markanın kendi mağazaları da olsa ya da online sattıkları genel bir koleksiyon olsa ne güzel olurdu diye düşünmeden edemiyorum :))

Sena Enderoglu & Tansel Bayraktar were two close friends interested in natural stones and believed in the healing energy of them. This common interest brought them to unite their skills under the jewellery brand, Zivatu. Being inspired by the ancient Anatolian civilizations, they named the brand as Zivatu which means "woman" in the old Hittiten language and used Goddess Kybele symbol as the brand logo. All the designs are made from 925 silver, covered with gold and enriched by semi-precious natural stones.

While surfing on their web site, I couldn't see any online shopping option and googled to find a place where these beauties could be sold. Right at that time, I ran into an interview about the brand and the owners and found out that they had been designing a special collection to Vakko for several years. Success story is not limited to that. After attending some international jewellery fairs abroad, they had made some connections to Portugal and Greece and extended their presence to Europe. What I loved most was their complementary jewellery collection designed for a Japanese fashion designer in USA. As we all have been trying to reach our roots and find our essence recently, I can't stop myself to ask why such an internationally successful brand wouldn't own its own shops or have a regular collection sold online.

Kazma kürek yaktıran Mart'a geldik ama kapıdan dışarı baktığımızda bugün kar yerine sıcak yüzünü gösteren güneşi görüyoruz, ne güzel :)) Söz konusu mevsimlerden bahar olunca, doğayla uyum içinde yeniden doğmak, tepeden tırnağa yenilenmek istiyor insan. Bunun bilincinde olan markalar da yeni sezon ürünleriyle vitrinlerini süsleyerek bizleri kışkırtmaya devam ediyor.

Yuvasını seven dişi kuş Mona Lisa bu yenilenme sevdasına Zara Home'dan başladı ve baharı evinize taşımanız için aşağıdaki birbirinden güzel yatak örtülerini seçti.
